Municipal Association of Victoria
The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) was established in 1879 and provides a range of advice, support and professional development opportunities to support Victorian councils. Seventy-eight of Victoria's councils are members of the MAV. The MAV promotes the efficient carrying out of municipal government throughout the state of Victoria and watches over and protect the interests, rights and privileges of municipal corporations. They raise issues on behalf of local government that affect their members and their communities. The MAV established the LGICT Group (now MAV Technology) in 2004. The MAV and MAV Technology work together to support ICT initiatives that will help to deliver council business priorities.
